1. Tips for Playing by Ear -- Tablature can be a wonderful teacher and guideline, but just how many books can
we carry with us? This class will help students begin to break away from dependency on tab.
2. Moving Beyond the Bum Ditty -- This class is intended for players who know how to play but who are struggling
with adding some personality to their playing through a more effective use strumming. Using familiar tunes, we will
look at techniques to help the student understand the use of strumming and how to advance their strumming to make their playing
more exciting and enjoyable.
3. Learning a DAA Jam Tune -- In this class students will learn a common jam tune in the DAA tuning. This
tune will be used to continue into our jam workshop.
4. Getting the Most from a Jam Session -- Although it is not necessary to take the previous workshop sessions
to attend, we will build on some of the lessons learned in the earlier classes to strengthen our confidence to join in jam
sessions. We will include playing with background chords and rhythm during a jam.
